ENGLAND ROAR INTO THE WORLD CUP SEMI-FINALS AFTER DRAMATIC 2–1 VICTORY OVER NORWAY
By Publisher Ray Carmen
England are through to the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Norway 2–1 in a thrilling quarter-final that required extra time in Miami.
Norway struck first through Andreas Schjelderup, putting England under immediate pressure and raising hopes of another historic Norwegian victory after their sensational elimination of Brazil.
But England refused to surrender.
Jude Bellingham delivered when his country needed him most, scoring the equaliser before striking again in extra time to secure a dramatic victory and send the Three Lions into the last four.
The victory takes England into their first World Cup semi-final since 2018 and keeps alive the nation’s dream of lifting football’s greatest prize for the first time since 1966.
Norway leave the tournament with immense pride. Led by Erling Haaland, they produced one of the most exciting campaigns of the competition and reached the quarter-finals of a major international tournament for the first time in their history.
England’s journey, however, continues.
The Three Lions will now face Argentina in the semi-final on 15 July, with a place in the World Cup final at stake.
England are one victory away from the biggest match in world football.
